In one of the closest votes ever, Sam Bradford beat out Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow for the Heisman Trophy this evening. Bradford joins four other Sooners in winning the award, including upstanding citizen Billy Sims, who was unable to refrain from yelling out drunken comments during the ceremony. One wonders why someone who hocked his own Heisman Trophy was even allowed in the room. [...]
Colt McCoy was chosen for the Second Team Offense by the Associated Press in the All Big 12 Team (Oklahoma's Paul Bradford was quarterback on the First Team Offense). Meanwhile, the same organization chose him as Offensive Player of the Year.
As expected, the Oklahoma Sooners jumped my Texas Longhorns in today’s BCS rankings. As a result, Oklahoma is off to Kansas City next weekend to play the collapsing Missouri Tigers for the Big Twelve Championship. Win there, and the Sooners are most likely off to Miami to play in the national championship against the winner of the SEC Championship between Florida and Alabama.
In no way do I want to belittle Oklahoma. Ok, I want to belittle Oklahoma just about …
If it's the final Saturday in November, then it must be time for the Bedlam Series, the annual game between cross-state rivals Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The Sooners are playing for a shot at the Big 12 Championship game and the national championship game. The Cowboys are playing for pride.
Okie Lite hasn't won in seven years, but the last time they did so, Oklahoma was third in the BCS and had their national championship hopes dashed by the loss. Oklahoma State would certainly love to play spoiler again. [...]
Texas Tech was due for a down game, and they picked the wrong time to do it. Mike Leach dug into his bag of tricks and conjured one of his defenses of the past. In addition, he told his offensive line to spend the night falling backwards onto their butts.

Oklahoma, meanwhile, was mean, nasty, and much, much faster than Tech. Stoops showed no sign of letting up until the game was well away in …
With the Longhorns idle this weekend in preparation for Texas A&M on Thanksgiving, all the eyes of Texas are upon the Texas Tech Red Raiders versus Oklahoma Sooners game Saturday night in Norman. While Texas has attractive paths with either team winning, the road ahead will certainly become clearer when the game is over.

Note: All projections depend upon Texas beating A&M. A third straight loss to the Aggies is too horrible to even imagine.…
This quote, in particular, gave me a warm feeling in my heart:
Tailback Chris Brown said the Sooners endured a dead-quiet bus ride back from Dallas on Saturday night, soaking in their first loss before moving on to address some of the areas of concern Stoops was asked about on Tuesday.
When will they learn that Bob Stoops sure can recruit, but …
Midway through the Longhorns’ tough six game stretch, Texas has beaten Arkansas, Colorado, and top ranked Oklahoma, to go 6-0 for the season.
The convincing 45-35 win over the Sooners vaulted Texas to its first mid-season #1 ranking since 1984. Given the target that #1’s have had on their back the last couple of seasons, it may not be a comfortable place to be. Fortunately, Texas has a 12-1 record the week after being ranked #1, if you believe …
