Once you’ve had proper A5 Japanese Wagyu, it become something of an obsession. I’ve had it on two different cruises (albeit the same boat), at Victoria and Albert’s in Disney’s Grand Floridian, and at Prime Steakhouse in Bellagio.
What I’ve never done, is cook it myself. But that is about to change.
Enter Crowd Cow, an online store for craft meats, where you purchase meat for particular ranches.
One of their offerings is authentic A5-rated Japanese Wagyu from Kagoshima …
I’ll admit it, I’m a cookbook addict. I prefer books that address a particular regional food, cooking technique, or go in depth on a type of ingredient. I’ve got a huge stack of cookbooks in my library. Some of them have been read, while others are waiting to be read.
One cookbook that I’ve read and that I go back to regularly is The Food Lab by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. The book is an offshoot of the column that Lopez-Alt …
I finally got around to seeing the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody yesterday. While it’s rather formulaic for a rocker biopic, Rami Malek’s performance and the non-stop awesome music, make for a heck of a good time.
Keep Yourself Alive has been stuck in my head ever since.…
From worst to best, here is how I rank the villains from the Marvel Netflix universe.
Note: Lots of spoilers below, so be warned. Also, I’ve just begun watching The Defenders, so I haven’t yet ranked Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra Reid (or any other new villains in that series).
I’m also not including Frank Castle, Joy Meachum, or Davos on the this. The first because he’s not really a villain (although he certainly does bad things), and the latter two …
Shark Week 2017 has come to a close, and my wife and I have almost made it through all the episodes on the DVR. Earlier this evening, she pointed out that every show on Shark Week has the same basic structure:
- Describe horrible tragedy or scientific unknown pertaining to sharks.
- Spend 20 minutes on background information.
- Launch major quest to explain the tragedy or discover the unknown.
- Be unable to find what they’re looking for, but see lots of other
It’s been a few days since Hugh Freeze’s sudden departure from Ole Miss. It’s time to look back at the best memes created around Hugh Freeze. Some of these are in response to his “resignation”, but others are from other parts of his tenure.
Quick disclosure, a few years ago I actually met Coach Freeze briefly, but that will have no impact on my choices here. All that matters is funny.

One of the inevitabilities of having a five year old is that I’ll eventually see every Disney movie, whether I plan to or not. We’re just now starting to take her to movies in the theatre, so we didn’t see Moana when it came out last fall.
But now that it’s on Netflix, we’ve watched it countless times. It’s entertaining, and a definite step up from the inane “based on the movie” shows on Netflix like Home or Angry Birds.…
If we’re going to elect a president from reality television, he should fill his cabinet with appointees from that same world. Here are my suggestions for how he could do so.
Paris Hilton (The Simple Life)
No one books more worldwide travel than Paris, and from what I learned from Obama’s first Secretary of State, that’s the most important qualification.
Todd Hoffman (Gold Rush)
I’m not sure if he makes more money from gold mining or being on …
I saw Captain America: Civi War on Monday, so I’m now up to date on the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As of this moment, here is how I rank the thirteen movies, from worst to best.
13) The Incredible Hulk
This movie was just bad. Contrived and boring. It’s a good thing Iron Man had come out a month or so before it to show what the MCU potential way.
12) Iron Man 2
I’m a fan of …
