Independence Bowl Predictions

Texas v Texas A&M

Independence Bowl
Texas A&M vs. Georgia
December 28, 2009, 4pm Central
Shreveport, Louisiana
Network: ESPN2

Texas A&M played their best game of the year against the Texas Longhorns a month ago, and it was nearly enough to knock off the number two team in the country. When quarterback Jarrod Johnson is on, he’s amazing. Unfortunately, he and the rest of the Aggie team have been very inconsistent.

Georgia lost a great deal to the NFL last season, and has been a mediocre team all season.

Texas A&M’s solid offense versus Georgia’s so-so defense and Georgia’s so-so offense versus Texas A&M’s staffed-by-tween-girls defense means a lot of points are going to be scored in this game.

A&M’s bowl record has been horrific for as long as most of its players have been alive. Look for them to have a serious down game after the emotional moral victory of playing Texas close.

I like Georgia by two touchdowns, 38-24.
