American Idol Top Three Suggestions

The song choices are wide open, with each contestant picking one song and the judges picking another for them. The songs can be from any genre.

I’m looking forward to the performances this week, as the judge’s picks are often quite interesting.

Danny Gokey
I’m still looking for some bluesy, southern rock from Danny, so maybe this will be the week and he’ll perform Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”.

It’s also been a few weeks since he’s sung about loss, so he’s certainly overdue for one from that direction. I’d like to hear him sing “That’s Another Song” by Bryan White.

Kris Allen
Kris needs to play up the teen heartthrob angle, grab the acoustic guitar, and perform “No Such Thing” by John Mayer. Next he should go all acoustic with “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton.

Adam Lambert
I’m certainly hoping for Adam to stick with rock and roll. Since he seems to be resisting the urge to go the Queen/David Bowie direction, how about “More Than a Feeling” by Boston? There are certainly enough high notes for him to play with.

And for something with more of an alt rock feel, he could perform “Turning Japanese” by the Vapors.
