Five Longhorns Headed to NFL Combine
The NFL has extended invitations to wide receiver Quan Cosby, defensive tackle Roy Miller, running back Chris Ogbonnaya, defensive end Brian Orakpo and corner back Ryan Palmer to participate in the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine. The Combine is a week long showcase that occurs every February in Indianapolis. College football players will perform physical and mental tests for coaches, GMs and scouts of the NFL.

Despite the best efforts of the owner, the coaching staff, and the players, the Dallas Cowboys may yet find a back door into the playoffs. After last night’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, where the Cowboys defense completely collapsed in the closing minutes, the playoff hopes looked quite bleak.

As I posted previously, we were on the second row of the upper deck, so we had a great view.
Unfortunately, much of the view was taken up by the four, um, “ladies” in front of us. I’m fairly confident that they were all ex-strippers, and I suspect that they might have looked good at some point in the 1980′s. Let’s just say they were past their prime.

Let’s be honest here. The Cowboys weren’t playing all the well before Tony Romo hurt his finger.
So, other than a negative influence from Jessica, what are the proximate causes of the Cowboys’ decline?
Certainly, injuries…

Let me start this post by saying that given the status of my fantasy team, I have no real right to make projections on NFL teams. But I am going to do so anyways.
With the loss of Tony Romo for a month and Felix Jones for a week or two, the Cowboys have a problem. When you take an offense that was good, but not great, and remove two of its star performers, you’ve got a recipe for mediocrity.…
