Texas vs. Oklahoma State Predictions

without comments

Over the summer, I had tonight’s game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater was one to worry about. It has all the signs of a trap game. Road game at night. Against a team who is solid but unrespected. We had a good chance of going into it undefeated. And it’s one year after that horrible night in Lubbock last season.

The season started and the Texas Longhorns didn’t do anything to make me feel better about the game. The offense appeared to be barely a shadow of last season’s powerhouse. Making it to Halloween undefeated looked like a long shot.

Then the Goon Squad began to assert itself.

Has Mike Leach Lost Control of his Players?

with one comment

Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Mike Leach has always been unpredictable. He is likely to do the unexpected, whether with his play calling or his interviews. But this year’s antics seem to have had a larger impact, and not a positive one.

Have Texas Tech players lost faith in their coach?

Thoughts on Oklahoma versus Texas

with 2 comments

I will always take an ugly win over a pretty loss. And Saturday’s 16-13 win by the Texas Longhorns over the Oklahoma Sooners certainly qualifies as an ugly win.

Especially the first half, where Texas managed only 59 yards of offense (compared to Oklahoma’s 192). Colt McCoy was sacked four times in the first thirty minutes.

Photos: Colorado vs. Texas

without comments

As usual, I took a camera with me to the game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Texas Longhorns at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium last Saturday night. I can’t really shoot the game from our seats on the east side upper deck, but I got some decent shots of the team walking in before the game, of the crowd, and of the Longhorn Band’s halftime show.

Here’s the Longhorn Band’s halftime show for the Colorado Buffaloes versus Texas Longhorns game. The theme of the show was a tribute to video games, and the video was shot by the Wife.

Video: Longhorns enter DKR-TMS for Colorado Game

As always, the Texas Longhorns coaches and players walked into Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium through the north gate two hours before yesterday’s game against the Colorado Buffaloes.

To change things up, the Wife shot video while I took stills (to be posted later today or tomorrow).
