SFC Farmers Market at Sunset Valley

without comments

Austin loves a farmers market. There must be a dozen or more around the greater Austin area alone. These markets focus on locally grown, and often sustainable, food and other products.

The Wife and I have been to several of the Austin-area markets and this morning we decided to make the trek down to south Austin for the SFC Farmers Market at Sunset Valley. SFC also runs the markets downtown (on 4th) and in the Triangle, and is supposed to…

Iliza Shlesinger in Austin, Texas

without comments

The Wife and I returned to Cap City Comedy Club last night, this time to see Iliza Shlesinger. Iliza is the most recent winner, first female winner, and youngest winner of Last Comic Standing. She’s also appeared on the roundtable on Chelsea Lately. It seems that the Wife and I discover most comics there lately.

Snowpacalypse 2010 Pictures

without comments

Every time there’s the slightest amount of snow in Central Texas, the entire city of Austin shuts down. Usually, this is an overreaction.

My Jury Duty Experience

without comments

A few weeks back, I received a jury summons. I’ve never served on a jury, and I wouldn’t mind doing so, except that right now I’m relatively busy with client work. In addition, I’m bidding some projects that I might lose if I end up spending two or three weeks in a jury box.

I’m not a student, and last I checked, Obama hadn’t yet approved my request to become the ambassador to St. Lucia, so I didn’t have an…
