model Carolee has been on PhotogBlog before. Here she is from the studio shortly
after an event for L'Oreal.
Canon
enters the Wi-Fi age. I don't have a camera with Wi-Fi yet, but it seems like it would
be useful, particularly in a studio setting.
This has been a tough year on the great ones. Vietnam War photojournalist
Eddie Adams passed last Saturday. Mr. Adams is most famous for his grusome photo of a
Vietnamese prisoner being executed on the streets of Saigon.

Bjørn Rørslett has a review of the
Nikkor AFS 200mm

Here's Taylor, shot in the studio last July. This may have been her very first shoot,
but at the very least, she hadn't done many. She did a great job, especially for a rookie.

A pair of Madonna's bodyguards were detained by Tel Aviv police after
a brawl with
photographers. While popperazi are certainly capable of pushing things too far,
it does sound like the bodyguards were in the wrong here.

promotional pictures. Hair, makeup and styling were provided by Regan's talents
mom, Bonnie.
Lots of goodies announced from Nikon today...
Nikon guru Thom Hogan has a
report from Photokina
covering the Nikon related announcements. Thom also has a look at the
17-55mm AF-S DX.
Rob Galbraith has a quick look at the
300mm f/2.8 with Vibration Reduction. I love the VR in my 70-200mm, so I suspect that
this will be an excellent lens. I'm sure it won't be cheap, however. Please be aware that
it is a "G" lens, which means there is no aperture ring on the lens. Aperture must be
controlled electronically from the camera body.
More exciting is the announcement of two new SLR's,
Nikon D2X and the Nikon F6, with the first being digital and the second film.
The D2X looks like a monster, with 12.4MP resolution, up to five frames per second, and a
memory buffer of up to fifteen NEFs. By comparison, my D100 has a buffer for only four much
smaller (6.3MP) NEFs. Built in wireless will make this useful for studio work.
My first impression of the F6 suggests that it has much (if not all) of the fuctionality
of the F5, in a bit of a smaller package (the F5 is a big beast). Supposedly, it's going to
have a ruggedness similar to the F5 (which is built like a tank).
Haven't seen anything on list or street prices yet.

I received my Lexar 1GB CompactFlash cards on Monday. Of course, yesterday,
