Tonight was the Group 3 Results show. The slots in the Top Twelve went to Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, and Jorge Nuñez. Scott making it was a little bit of a surprise, but the other two were obvious locks.
With that reveal done, they quickly turned to naming the wild card contestants:
Von Smith
Von has been unimpressive the whole way through, but obviously, the judges see something I do not.
Jasmine Murray
I really liked Jasmine through Hollywood Week, but found her Round 2 performance to be rather boring. Hopefully, she can step up her game in the wild card.
Ricky Braddy
Who? Ricky hasn’t been memorable any time I’ve seen him. What a wasted wild card spot.
Megan Corkrey
Yeah, she’s got some odd moves, but I really like her voice.
Tatiana Del Toro
Well, the crazy woman is back, and as nuts as ever. She’s got talent, but not enough to win. At least we’ll get to witness another meltdown.
Matt Giraud
If he returns to the guy who performed “Georgia” during Hollywood Week, he’ll have a good shot at making it through.
Jesse Langseth
Jesse is good, but not great. Hopefully she can show us something that hasn’t been there yet.
Anoop Desai
Noop Dog has talent, and seems like a great guy. Make it count!
The producers of American Idol have been rather tight lipped about how the wild card round will actually work, but it seems that it will be similar to the original auditions, where the judges vote immediately.
If all four judges say “yes”, that person is in. But what if more than three people get all four to say “yes”? They haven’t told us yet.
