Kansas Jayhawks (7-5) vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers (7-5)
Television: NFL Network
I’ve got Time Warner, so I won’t be watching this one, unfortunately. I suppose I could go watch it at a bar, but given how mediocre the teams are, I don’t see that happening.
It does have the potential to be an entertaining, leave-the-defense-at-home type game. Not unlike last night’s Holiday Bowl. The wife is working (being ER means you miss holidays regularly), so maybe I’ll go watch it somewhere.
Kansas lost to South Florida, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Nebraska, and Texas. Their most impressive wins were against Kansas State and Missouri.
Minnesota lost to Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. They’re on a four game losing streak. Impressive wins include… Well… Purdue, I guess.
Mark Mangino should have Todd Reesing and his banged up Jayhawks ready to play. They’ll be looking to light up the scoreboard.
Gophers quarterback Adam Weber and wide receiver Eric Decker give Minnesota perhaps the best aerial attack of the Big 10 Conference. Whether that actually means anything is yet to be seen. I suspect Kansas lack of defense is going to make them look good.
This one will go back and forth for a bit more than three quarters, with Kansas pulling away in the fourth.
Prediction: Kansas 45, Minnesota 31
